For the past few months, I took a break from my usual work to help my friend Kingsley establish The Blue Room Coboconk 🔗, a vibrant new event space and artist management company in Coboconk, Ontario. It’s been a wild ride, filled with music, community, and over 10 successful events that brought the Kawartha Lakes region to life for 'Summer 2025'. 🌟 But like the Littlest Hobo from that classic ‘80s Canadian TV show, my time here is done, and I’m ready to keep movin’ on. 🚶♂️
A Season of Events 🎤
Since March 2025, I’ve been all-in, helping organize and promote events that brought incredible energy to Coboconk. From the Bobcaygeon Bike Fest on June 7, where we managed live music, bands, and DJs for a roaring crowd, to a Space Jam-themed party during the Victoria Day weekend that turned The Blue Room into a Galactic Groove rave-disco, the vibes were electric. ⚡ Other highlights included shows at The Blue Room and The Pattie House, where local and visiting artists filled the stages with unforgettable performances. Special thanks to Christina Abbott for her eye-catching flyer designs that gave each event its own flair. ✨
My Role and Reflections 💻
Working with Kingsley’s team, I helped manage logistics, promote artists, and even tackled the web development and kept the events page running smoothly. From coordinating Artists and Events to ensuring the website was ready and up-to-date, it was a labor of love. The Blue Room became a hub for music and community, and I’m proud to have been part of its early days. But, like the Littlest Hobo, I’m not one to stay in one place too long—there’s always a new adventure calling. 🌄
Moving On 🐾
As I wrap up my time with The Blue Room, I’m grateful for the experiences, the music, and the people who made it all possible. Kingsley and his team are set to keep the good vibes going, and I know Coboconk will continue to shine as a destination for live music and events. For me, it’s time to hit the road—figuratively and maybe literally—to chase new projects and passions.
